4 out of 5 stars dancing for u   September 6, 2010

Dance on Broadway this is a fun way to keep fit and gets you moving, complicated at first because you need to get to know the sequence of movements to the music but it's fun while learning, plenty of laughs if doing it with a spouse or friend.

If you're a fan of Broadway show tunes, you'll like this. It contains songs from several shows, although not enough of the standards -- I assume because of copyright issues. Two tunes from "Chicago" is one too many, and there's nothing from great composers like Lerner and Loewe. You score points by moving the controller with one hand, so your ability to dance really doesn't matter. I guess that 's for people who aren't particularly graceful, but you could lie on the sofa, wave the controller around, and score points. If you try to copy the footwork AND the arm movements, it's a bit of a workout, and it's fun. I hope we'll get a "Dance on Broadway II" at some point, although I fear it will be full of Andrew Lloyd Webber and some of the recent, really mediocre composers.

2 out of 5 stars How come the video shows so little of the Wii graphics?   August 31, 2010

Sounds like fun, but if they are not going to show the quality of the graphics then its a no go.

cheesy childish Wii graphics or quality adult graphics? Its getting a bit old to play with jelly bean people.

3 out of 5 stars could use some work   August 23, 2010

I love Broadway Musicals and thought this would be a change from the Just Dance music video type dancing. i thought this would be fun with 4 people all having something else to do making it more challanging. there are so many distractions its hard to follow. Here are my issues with this game
1. you only hear the lyrics every so often, even then they are stepped on by the music, making it hard to figure out just what youre dancing to.
2. the camea angle is constantly changing making player 1 hard to follow (even though at this point all 4 players should have the same moves, but you still dont want to be THIS distracted)
3. even with the 4 people kind of standing in a row, its hard to tell which player is supposed to follow which dancing (on the lion king for example, the 2 left side players had the same colors which is what i always looked for to find my dancer)
4. the moves are awkward to follow on the anomated people as well as the showings of coming up moves. like on Just Dance where the moves are done by an actual person and arent as complicated to follow.
I tried all the dances trying to make this worth the 40 bucks i spent but i would rather master Just Dance or the Golds Gym Cardo Dance. this game is slow and awkward to the point of frustration then its just not fun anymore. If you really want to buy this game i would highly recommend barrowing or renting it FIRST to see if this is something that will work for you.

4 out of 5 stars Suprisingly fun and difficult   August 23, 2010

This game is very challenging. I have played other dance games before, but this one has to be most difficult while still being an enourmous amount of fun. If you want something that doesn't get old and will entertain your whole family, (even your 14 year old who hates everything) this is the game to get. I would have liked them to have more songs, from more current musicals but the ones there are absolutly fun!
