Product Description
In Harvest Moon: Animal Parade, the divine tree, which once stood in the middle of the Harvest Goddess' pond, is weakening, the creatures are beginning to leave the land, and the five bells have lost their power. The Harvest Goddess believes that only the strength of the Harvest King can help revive the earth and bring the tree back to life. It's up to you to help the Harvest Sprites ring the five mystical bells, summon the Harvest King, and revive the Harvest Goddess' tree and the land.

5 out of 5 stars Best HM Game Ever!! :)   July 26, 2010

This is the best HM game ever! There are so many wonderful things that Natsume added into this one.

Graphics: 10/10 These graphics are really good. I mean, when it's Fall in the game, it looks totally real! Leaves are falling and everything! I'm so glad they improved the graphics. You will really enjoy these graphics in the game. By the way, the characters look so realistic. I love the way they did the characters. And finally they actually put some time into making the boy characters look nice. The girl ones look good, too. Overall, the graphics are great.

Story: 10/10 The main plot of the game is to ring all five bells because the Harvest Goddess tree is dying. The Harvest Goddess is tied to the tree and she will die along with the tree if you don't ring all of the bells. The bells are actually not too hard, because I think that the Tree of Tranquility game was a little trickier. I still have one more bell to do, and I'm at the beginning of Winter. Not too bad for my first time playing Animal Parade. Anyways, I love the plot of this game.

Characters: 8/10 The characters were really good! They made Luna taller in this one, too. (She was shorter in Tree of Tranquility.) But, one of the boy characters named Julius looks totally like a girl. He has purple hair, earrings, and he just looks like a girl. That is a huge problem for me. Maybe not for some of you, but I really hate how they did this character. That's pretty much why I gave the characters an 8/10. Plus, they could've done better to make some of the other boys seem, you know, more boyish!! They need to give at least a couple of the boys more of a blonde color hair or brown hair color, not peach-colored hair. (Sorry, Chase. LOL) Overall, the characters are pretty cute.

Gameplay: 9/10 I really enjoy playing this game. You have so many things to do, that you hardly ever get bored! So far, I'm in Winter and I have a level 2 house, chicken coop, level 2 barn, and a huge garden. Oh, plus, my person is married. I really like to try to fit everything in on one day. I'm so glad Natsume included a lot to do in this game! In past HM games, I got kinda bored easily. But in this one, I guarantee that you will never get bored!

Overall: 10/10 Overall, I give this game a ten! Definitely buy this game! You will love every part of it. Also, if you're new to HM or are thinking about getting one, I also recommend getting the Official Strategy Guide for Animal Parade. Thank you Natsume for another successful HM game! Happy gaming everybody!!

5 out of 5 stars Loved every second of it! =D   June 9, 2010

I'm a major Harvest Moon fan and I was not dissapointed with Natsume's latest HM game a bit! I've had it for a few months now and I'm still playing it for hours a day. This is definately one of my favorite HM games.

Like Tree of Tranquility, the Harvest Goddess needs help reviving the tired land of the island and so she summons you for help. You, of course, then do all you can to help the land and make everyone happy again. When you first arrive at the island everyone is VERY gloomy. That changes as you help the island become rich and beautiful again.

It is very like Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility, with all the same characters plus a few new ones, same livestock animals, and most of the same wild animals to befriend, but with very fun additions. For instance, you are now able to take pictures from a niffty camera that Simon gives to you, you can ride all of your livestock animals (cow, sheep, goat, horse, and ostrich), you can train your pets to do awesome tricks, fun contests at the festivals, and you can now have two kids instead of just one. You can also dress your kids! How fun! Everything ages a lot faster also. Instead of having to wait a season for things to grow up (kids, animals, etc.) it only takes half a season. I thought that was a major improvement.

There is also a circus that comes to town that lost most of it's stars! If you help the ringmaster out and find his animals (he'll give you hints to where they are) he'll give you an awesome secret that allows you to travel WAY faster.

Your seeds and fertilizer come in packages of one and your tools are harder to advance but it's not too hard. Just make sure you advance your watering can fast if you want to farm a lot. Watering a hundred squares one-by-one is not fun. :(

I would definately recommend this game to anyone who needs to pass the time. It's a great game!

2 out of 5 stars What's with all these five star reviews?   May 29, 2010

I got this game for Christmas this year, hoping that it would be just as good as ToT and HM64. Sadly, I was wrong. First off, unless there's something wrong with my copy, the game lags like crazy. I just can't enjoy how crappy the character movements are! The days are horribly long, and I always find myself simply taking care of my animals, watering my crops, and going to sleep at 10:00am every day in the game.

Also, the game's story gets in the way of gameplay. In Harvest Moon 64, the game had a very simple story, and the only thing you had to do was raise a good farm. In this game, you have to find bells and sometimes travel around town to give things to villagers. I'll often find myself entering a new area, and then suddenly get interrupted by a cutscene. The beginning of the game also has a lot of boring dialogue, and after the first hour, I couldn't stand it anymore. Some areas in the game are blocked off until you reach a certain part of the story. Really, how annoying. I liked it better in the older Harvest Moons where you could go anywhere you wanted, even on the first day.

Another thing, the town is like a big maze, and I spend much of my time searching through it. The areas surrounding the town are also too far apart, so it takes quite a lot of time to reach certain areas, though there's not much to do there anyway.

Overall, the game is pretty bad, but it can sometimes get a little entertaining. Though its probably the worst in the series, I'd recommend renting the game if you are a big fan of the series.
