Product Description Description
A compilation of simple, Wii-playable sports games. Included sports are Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Boxing and Bowling. All of these sports games have a stylized look that's designed after classic 8-bit game designs but brought to life with full 3D technology. Although each game will concentrate on the core mechanics of hitting a ball, swinging a racquet, and putting with a club, the games will offer full (albeit simplified) sports experiences of whole games in Baseball and Tennis as well as multiple holes to play in Golf. Also compatible with the Mii avatar system for a more personalized experience.
Amazon.com Product Description Bundled with Wii, Wii Sports introduces a whole new way to play your game. This is what video games should be: fun for everyone. Wii Sports offers five distinct sports experiences, each using the Wii Remote controller to provide a natural, intuitive and realistic feel. To play a Wii Sports game, all you need to do is pick up a controller and get ready for the pitch, serve or that right hook. If you've played any of these sports before, you're ready for fun!
Play Tennis, Baseball, Golf, Bowling and Boxing in the comfort of one's living room. No ball boys scurrying about, no oil from the alleys to get players dirty and no rain to keep anyone from a day at the court, park or course. Use the Wii Remote controller to mimic the actions of swinging a racket, bat or club, roll a ball down an alley or bring the left jab.
Players can use their own Mii caricatures in the game and play them against their friends' Miis for a more personalized experience. As players improve, their Miis' skill levels will increase, so that they can see exactly how much better they've become.
People of all skill levels can pick up and play any of the games in the unprecedented Wii Sports package, making this truly a title for everyone!

Makes me regret buying a Wii August 28, 2010 cosmicfish Wii has some good games, but whoever created this junk should be fired. There are two problems I see with this game:
1) These games are incredibly simplistic. That by itself is not a bad thing, because it does at least get you to use the controllers a bit. But it also means that the games are pretty dumb.
2) Playing against the computer is completely arbitrary. In all of the games you are given a rating that tracks your "ability". If you are playing the computer, it assigns an opponent to match that ability, but it does it (when possible) by arbitrarily screwing you up.
Let me give an example of a game I just played. Baseball.
It's a three inning game, and I had just won the first few, which were pitifully easy. So it decided to give me a harder opponent. I'm okay with that, its supposed to happen, unless (as in this case) it does so by removing my ability. What do I mean? Let me explain, using the example of losing streak #3:
The batting was harder, but that is predictable. I scored 1 hit, no runs in my first inning, no errors on their part. I stepped up to pitch, and things got just plain silly. All the splitters I throw they watch - no swinging, so they now cannot be faked out - except for the two that I throw where I make a pitching error giving them an automatic hit. Anything over the plate, they nail - 95mph fastballs, curves, screwballs - if its over the plate they hit it, for a double or more. Anything NOT over the plate, they still hit, often foul, but at least once every two or three swings they will hit one of these into the infield, where my team immediately makes an error to allow them on base. Eventually, it decides I've had enough, and the pitchers become incompetent and my players learn how to catch - after six batters, I suddenly get three outs in a row.
End of 1st inning: 0-4. Me: 4 errors, 1 hit. Wii: 0 errors, 6 hits.
Second inning is more of the same. My hitting is now going all over the place - the few I hit are immediately caught. Three quick outs later, they're back at bat. First swing - a double. Second swing - a double, and an error by team. Third swing - a double and a pitching error. Score is now 0-6, and apparently the I give up the same time the machine does. From now on I will throw nothing but slow-as-possible fastballs (I wanted to see if it would mercy rule me out!). The next three batters are quick outs - all strikes and hits to the infield (no errors).
End of 2nd inning: 0-6. Me: 6 errors, 1 hit. Wii: 0 errors, 9 hits.
Third inning continues the same. I still cannot hit the ball, and am not sure why, but I get a lot of foul balls. Their batting doesn't matter, since without 6+ runs I have no chance, and I cannot get them. I lose, which it feels a need to taunt me with.
Here's the thing. I don't mind a game that gets harder as it goes. But any game this arbitrary is just dumb. If the game is "close", the computer batters cannot miss, and your fielders cannot catch. Once the game is lopsided, the computer batters cannot hit, and your infielders are perfect.
So what's the point of playing? This was not one game, it was characteristic - three games in a row where my fielders had 6 or more errors than the Wii fielders per game, where the Wii batters were unbeatable until I was 3-4 runs down in the 1st inning, or 5-7 runs down in the 2nd inning, after which they were incompetent.
This game angers me enough that I am genuinely done with Wii. Every game system has stupid games, but this is the dumbest one I have ever seen packaged with a console. I have it for those who want to play, but I'm getting a PlayStation.

Great Games that usually come with Wii Unit. May 24, 2010 Donna M. Erickson (Kearny, NJ USA) This is very fun and has a few games I really Love! I love the Bowling, Baseball, and the Boxing! I bought it as a replacement game for Wii, because I loaned my original game to my daughter. I missed playing the Bowling so much, I ordered a replacement! I just Love the Wii and all the games!!! Great Family Fun!!!!
Good Product over all If that is what you need and looking for. May 16, 2010 Virginia H. Lambert (Knoxville, TN USA) Good Product. A little shaky on the bal game portion but everything else works really well. Better than paying $50 to $80 4 a new product. I even got an actual dvd case with the original paper work which was great because the one i had got with the Wii i purchased had gotten wet and I through it away. I think its great that those who put products on keep there word. It really gives us as customers a sense of relief. Thank you so much. i received everything in a timely manner and I am very happy with it. Thanks again.
fun for all ages April 27, 2010 harriet (New England) I love the games in Wii Sports. There should be something here for most people, as the game contains a variety of sports AND skill levels. Nice for family game nights, individual players, or a group from any age group! A good way to learn to use the remote because you will use it differently in the sports on this one game.
